| After 15 months I finally got my z back together and I can't stop smiling. After going from stock manifolds and turbos to MSP's and .86A/R HKS2530's it's a completely different car. I've only driven it with the stock cats on it so far since I need to get it smogged still but even with those on it untuned it feels faster than it was before when it had 3"tps and a custom SZ tune albeit with considerably more lag. Hopefully the lag wont be too bad once the 3" TP's are back on and SZ tunes it. How many of you have gone from full breather stock turbo set ups to upgraded turbos? I'm curious what your thoughts are on how it changed the car. When I had stock turbos the car didn't even feel like a turbo car, any gear, any rpm as soon as you pushed on the gas you were in boost. With NA 4.08 gears the torque came on so quick and strong that keeping the rear end planted was a constant chore and I was going through rear tires every 6 months. With the new set up the power comes on slower but it feels more useable because the tires aren't just getting blown away. Boost builds, tires chirp and then it pulls like a freight train all the way to redline where as before anything after ~5krpm's just felt like noise. How about NA and TT rear ends? Have any of you gone back and forth between them with stock turbos and then upgraded turbos? I have an NA rear currently but my brother and I have been talking about swapping his oem TT subframe for my NA. His car is basically identical to my old stock turbo set up only with 2.5" exhaust components so I'm thinking we each might be happier with the other's gearing. I'll make a proper post and go into more detail after I get it cleaned up and SZ tunes it but I was so excited to have my Z back I had to post something :) Old stock turbo dyno to show the torque curve
